Biography:

Scott has over 25 years of executive-level experience in broad classical global marketing, strategic planning and execution, product and brand management across a diverse variety of industries, including wireless telecommunications, Internet services, retail and enterprise software.

Scott most recently served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Stratos Global Corporation.  Stratos is a leading global provider of a wide range of advanced mobile and fixed-site remote communications solutions for users operating beyond the reach of traditional networks. In that role, he was responsible for all global marketing and strategy, product management, investor and public relations with operations in the America’s, Europe and Asia.   

Prior to his Stratos Global tenure, served as a senior marketing executive for IBM’s Software Group. In that role, he was responsible for the worldwide marketing and competitive sales strategy, for all three global regions: America’s, EMEA and Asia-Pacific. This marketing and sales organization served the Industry Solutions Group, a newly created organization within the Software Group of IBM.

Prior to IBM, Scott served as the Senior VP of Marketing for Software AG (Europe’s largest system software provider), responsible for all strategic marketing and channel initiatives in the North and South American markets.

In 1998, Scott joined OneMain.com, a pre-IPO Internet Service Provider, as their Chief Marketing Officer. He led the marketing, sales and service strategy for this ISP start-up. The IPO, in early 1999, was the largest internet IPO at the time.  The IPO helped lead OneMain.com into one of the leading ISP’s, servicing almost 1MM customers and generating  $180MM in revenue.  Eighteen months post IPO, Earthlink acquired OneMain.com.

From 1988 to 1998, Scott served in various senior marketing positions with several of the leading wireless telecommunications companies: Arch Communications, PageNet, SkyTel and McCaw Cellular. Before his wireless experience, he had 11 years of marketing and brand experience with Procter & Gamble and Southland Corporation (7-Eleven). Throughout his career, he has repeatedly held P&L responsibilities, managed sales and service functions, in addition to his marketing role.  Scott has been heavily involved in many merger and acquisitions and the integration of these companies into one marketing organization.

Scott received his BS in Marketing from Arizona State University.  He has also served on several non-profit Boards, including Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Boys and Girls Club of America.
