We live in a world dominated by Moore' Law. Our information continues to get denser and more difficult to extract. AlexLib.info is an AI based system which supports the user in developing an ontology to use as a search entity. It also helps the user in indicating a set of websites to search from. The search tool is a web page of about 60KB. This page can repetitively search a number of websites by a group of terms. The user only needs to refresh the page to rerun the search.
The system allows each user to have their own ontology and maintains a global record of the sets. Users are able to keep any number of complex searches. They may also leverage the system's information to either improve or develop searches.
Alex has been designed to be open ended. The concept of interrelationship is key. How can we ask the same question of different technologies? Are we asking the right question? Can we make a more complete request? These are some of the questions that Alex has been developed to support.
This tool can be used in media research, head hunting, and governmental research just to name a few. The database can be used for a wide variety of filtering processes from Net Nanny to organizing email. The system is free for public information. Users may create a user id and password or use Alex on a one time basis.
