Case Study - Ralston Purina

Our engagement with Ralston Purina was occasioned by the company’s need to modernize its structure and operations.  Divising a shadow operational structure alongside the existing structure, we led the corporate team’s learning effort to research and understand its needs to integrate, downsize, refocus its marketing, reposition its brand and upgrade substantiallyits ability to develop and use a flexible production system with completely revampeddistribution channels.  The shadow structure eventually became the new way of doing business. 

This effort resulted in the downsizing of the company from 14 production plants nationwide to eight, with new distribution theories and mechanisms.  The engagement  positioned the company for significant shareholder value growth and the eventual profitable acquisition by Nestlé.
