Biography:

Megan Tobin is a New York-based consultant and executive coach focused on strategic business development and leadership development.  She brings over 15 years experience in management and consulting roles working with Fortune 500, non profit, small business and investor clients.  Megan has strong industry experience in telecommunications, media and technology, with significant international accomplishments.  Her strong business and marketing background, combined with her finacial experience, which includes valuation and investment banking work, helps her quickly identify and understand operational and team requirements to drive business development results fast. She has worked in North America, Europe and Latin America.

Sample roles and responsibilities have included:

  • Group manager, strategy and business development for a Fortune 50's entrance into the wireless services market Results:  Market entrance plans created and implemented, new product and service offerings developed, operational requirements defined and RFI/RFP contracting process initiated and led, cross-functional teams coordinated and supplier contracting completed for service launch, new governance process developed for senior leadership team to drive product planning and innovation.
  • Director of business development, for a billion-dollar European (telecom) startup. Results: Market entrance and start up plans for businesses created and approved, regulatory strategy established, contracts negotiated and closed, key business assets in The Netherlands and Spain secured, new subsidiary established in Spain, training for European business development team initiated.
  • Consultant and financial lead for a Fortune 50's Latin American joint venture. Results: Business and marketing plans developed, project approved, funded and launched in less then 12 months, working with a team of approximately 8 consultants on international development.
  • Strategy and business development for a leading telecommunications company's wireless and video services businesses. Results: Video services market entrance strategy developed, business plans and valuations created, infrastructure contracts negotiated and assets secured, FCC auction plan and participation completed, M&A deal and integration team work, R&D contracting for wireless service.
  • Consultant to a leading international wireless company's International Business Development and Strategy group. Results: Market studies for 23 countries, transaction comparisons, research and valuation to support successful international investment and expansion activities.
  • Consultant to a US microlender. Results: Training and educational program developed and piloted; grant funding for small business technical assistance program received with in 6 months.
  • Consultant for a non profit grand funding program. Results: Financial review process for grant funding developed; delivered a financial review team to move recovery funds to 200 recipients in 6 months.
Megan holds a BS in Business Administration from UC Berkeley's Walter A. Haas School of Business.  She has formal coach training, is a member of the International Coach Federation's New York Chapter, and Chairs the American Society of Training and development's Coaching Special Interest Group in New York.
