Biography:
John Harney is an ASP consultant who provides technical and partnering expertise, market advice and competitive intelligence for application service providers. He also does frequent marketing materials for major information technology companies and is author of the book, Application Service Providers – A Manager’s Guide, published by Addison-Wesley.
He is the former Editor of E-doc magazine at the Association of Information and Image Management, Editor-in-Chief of Imaging magazine, Associate Publisher of Imaging Business magazine and correspondent for the Washington News Bureau.
In all, he has been writing IT-related columns, feature articles and marketing supplements for over 20 years in publications as varied as KMWorld, Enterprise Open Source Journal, Outsourcing Journal, Washington Technology, HP Professional, Enterprise Systems Journal, The Year In Computing, The Year in Government Computing, ATM Report, CableWorld, InformIT, Technology Review (MIT) and Intelligent Enterprise.
In addition to having deep expertise related to ASPs, he has written extensively on content management, document management, knowledge management, e-mail management, records management, workflow, electronic imaging, business process management as well as outsourcing and open source processes, business models and technologies.
